Thirty-nine

Finished today, one of my Brum bookshop purchases, the ninth (and final) of the school holidays and the thirty-ninth of the year. I feel like I have found a new-to-me author whose books I will want to work my way through. A double narrative, handled with compelling synchronicity and multiple strong characters, I can tell why she has won this year's Women's Prize for Fiction.

It's been a warm day which Bailey has appreciated by moving in and out of the sun for most of it. Once he was walked this morning, I headed into town to collect an order but didn't linger long. Home to do my last significant job before we are back at work on Monday. And then reading and telly catch up made up the rest of the day.
