September sunshine

A fine day, not windy; started like the day before with a heavy mist, which delays getting the barley cut. (The wetter the grain is when cut, the more fuel it takes to run the driers to get it to an acceptable sale and storage moisture level) Good grain (measured by nitrogen and moisture content) can be sold for malting which gets a much better return than damper stuff sold for feed.

Made a quick trip into Turriff for more milk after finishing my road cleaning. Walk in the later morning, around by a big old beech wood where I put up a brown hare.

Early evening supper and conversation with next door neighbours discussing the complexities of doing business in Saudi Arabia.
