The old bridge from the new

We left Ullapool under grey cloud (but no rain) this morning, and returned to very warm and sunny Edinburgh this afternoon.

The rest of the day we have doing the usual post-holiday tasks such as unpacking and the laundry. I also gardened a little and sorted through our holiday photos.

I love the way that the barriers on the Queensferry Crossing allow for drivers and their passengers to observe the two older bridges - and for blippers to snatch a photo for the day.

I'll be back to my usual routine tomorrow. It will be a book group Monday so I am also looking forward to hosting two of my favourite overnight guests.
