A Grand Day Out

It was a glorious day with a temperature high of 26.5°C/79°F which is almost unheard of in this part of the world!

Mrs CBL and I took ourselves off down to Deeside to visit two castles, Drum Castle and Castle Fraser focusing on their respective gardens.  We had coffees, a fine piece and a scone at Mains of Drum Garden Centre to get the day off to a good start.

Less than a mile along the road and we were driving up the avenue into the grounds of Drum Castle.  The garden was a delight to wander round.

Then onwards to Castle Fraser (main image) a few miles away.  It is a big favourite with fans of ‘Outlander’ both the books and television series.  Again the gardens were a joy to see.

It was a grand day out!
