Common Darter

This morning I went for a walk along the canal and the two nature reserves there.  It's a good place for dragonflies as there are pools. Both reserves are maintained by groups of Waterways volununteers and unfortunately both were very overgrown. I could see dragonflies in the distance but could not get close due to the high weeds, nettles and thistles.

Luckily this Common Darter obliged by perching by the side of the canal.
