Saltburn-by-the-Sea

Another absolutely beautiful day. Not as hot as at home which was 29C but about 21 which was very pleasant.
We took the bus up the coast with the intention of going to Saltburn- by- the -sea eventually but we carried on to Marske-by-the-sea and walked back along the beach. We were fascinated to see a big cable laying ship, the Leonardo Da Vinci, putting down cables to link up the DoggerBank wind farm.
Fortuitously we got talking to a man who was watching the process with binoculars . He turned out to be a retired electrical engineer and explained some of the process. ( First extra)
When we got to Saltburn we had a quick lunch sitting on the beach. Massive queue for the cafe selling crab sandwiches so had to settle for a sausage roll!
We took the funicular up the cliff to the main town, had coffee  and caught the bus back to Hinderwell.
This evening we cycled to the Cod and Lobster at Staithes and ate cod and lobster and scallops. It was delicious.
Main photo from the top of the funicular
And a collage of various things on display nearby.
