Scottie Trail

After the shopping at Tesco we decided to have a day at the seaside.

Off we went to St Andrews via Dundee, the quickest but less scenic way. We arrived and parked up. Walked along the street and found this lovely little Cafe off the street called Jarvies that had a cute sitting out area. I had the best lentil soup that I’ve had in ages. Yes, it was a hot day but you can’t beat a nice bowl of soup anytime! S had a lovely focaccia sandwich with salad and home made coleslaw and he said Delish. We met this nice elderly couple from Dalkeith sitting at the table next to us and had a good chat with them.

Walk down to the harbour, reminiscing about family holidays in a caravan at Kinkell Braes, way up the hill overlooking the East sands. Five of us in a wee caravan. I have only great memories of this time.

There is a Scottie trail in St Andrews and surrounding villages and we saw a few on our walk around the town. We had an ice cream at Janetta’s, busy but not mentally so. Lots of students around and still plenty tourists. It’s always busy at St A.

We had a detour to Toppings the bookshop. Ohhhh the smell…… they have such a selection and prob the best travel section I’ve seen in a bookshop.

A couple of cakes bought in Fisher and Donaldson for a cuppa in the garden but it took 5 mins driving away from St A before I’d opened the box and ate them. Who can keep a Fisher and Donaldson fudge doughnut without being tempted to eat right away!

I had a few sad moments tonight . We went out a walk to change the mood, ‘‘twas a beautiful night.
