Alberobello

We left our hotel this morning, collected the car and drove over to ‘Alberobello’ where we are spending the next few days.

I’d forgotten how generally rotten Italian roads are and how ambitious their drivers are. Several miles along pothole ridden roads with a selection of small fiats sat inches from our back bumper soon brought it all back.

Alberobello is amazing, full of round Trulli houses many of which have been turned into shops selling tourist gifts ( or tat as I would call it ), restaurants or interesting artisan shops ( with artisanal pricing ).

We are staying in a small Trulli complex just out of town. Our Trulli has luxury appointments like a toilet, air con and a spare bedroom, no wine glasses though.

However there is a pool so we spent a very relaxing afternoon reading, I managed to get both feet into the pool at one point as well.
