Bonny Black Hare

As today’s activities have been balancing the WI year end accounts for Mrs C and mowing the lawns, I thought another picture from Tuesday’s visit to Levens Hall would be more interesting than one of a spreadsheet or some grass clippings!
We found this hare hidden in the centre of the labyrinth at one edge of the gardens. Not the most complicated maze I’ve ever seen, but we still went down a few dead ends before we got to the centre.
The accounts should have been a five minute job, but ended up taking several hours due to a discrepancy that took a lot of detective work to resolve it. Long story short, it was actually two items from the previous year that had also impacted on this years figures. All sorted now, and I’ve added a comprehensive note at the bottom of the accounts so that the auditor doesn’t have to waste any of his time trying to work out what happened.
It’s been quite overcast today, but still very warm. We’re off out to a gig tonight at The Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal. Thankfully, it’s in the main theatre rather than the very low ceilinged Malt Room, so I’m hoping we won’t get too hot.
