When the big storm began I went onto the terrace to see it better. However because of the wind, the rain was coming in horizontally and was rapidly filling the plastic boxes of soil housing the baby tortoises. Unlike turtles they cannot swim, so I quickly rescued them and dumped them in the sink for a quick cleanup. All are now doing well in clean and dry boxes indoors.
