Auld stuff

One of the attractions at the village gala this year is Mintlaw Memories, an exhibition of old photographs and memorabilia, including this table of interesting objects. These included an 1869 edition of Mrs Beeton's Book of Household Management, an old map of Scotland, a gelding instrument for horses (ouch!), and a couple of primus stoves. This table and the other exhibits generated a lot of discussion and reminiscing over the fly-cup and fancy pieces on offer at the back of the hall. So much so that some folk vowed to return tomorrow for another look!
