Trepidation

This climbing wall was a popular event for kids at the Kenai River Festival today. It was fun to watch the kids try to climb the wall - some just scooted right up and some advanced with a lot of trepidation. Some didn't advance far, but whatever they did was an accomplishment.
The two day festival is hosted by the Watershed Forum, and the purpose is basically education about the river, the fish, and the ecology that's involved. A lot of the activities are aimed toward children, as their awareness will ultimately determine the future of the entire ecosystem.
I helped in a Rotary booth where the kids made "fish bowls" with colored paper plates and stickers of marine creatures.
Fortunately it was a beautiful day, which made it perfect for families, and the park where it was held is right next to the Kenai River.
