Pleach

The pale pink sea rocket plant was full of bees and hoverflies and sometimes a butterfly, while beyond the flowers, a man was taking his excited young son for a ride on a paddle board.  Before the weather reverted to the norm for September we took the opportunity this morning to return to Monday’s beach for another swim.  As before, there were very few swimmers (only five during our two hours there) and perhaps the nearby recorded water temperature of 14.7c feels too cold as many of us are now used to heated swimming pools and foreign beaches.  My intention too was for a quick dip but once I got used to the invigorating water I enjoyed swimming for forty five minutes then was able to dry in the warm sunshine before we had to leave.  Perhaps it will be the last swim in the sea this year but I have a great admiration for those wild water swimmers who swim all the year round without a wet suit.
