The Day has arrived

Last night The text said to come down at 9:45 and we would be leaving for Edinburgh at 10:30. But because Cameron hadn’t packed his case last night (or done much actually ) we were delayed by half an hour. It was typical Cameron, nothing rushed , very laid back…..

Dave was working all weekend so it was us with our estate car packed up and Laura, Ben , Kevin and Paul in the other car. His bass and amp had to come, he’s hoping Uni life will throw up some other musicians he can jam with.

Cameron is staying in Halls at Robertsons Close, just near the Grassmarket which is a great location for Uni life. His campus is 35 mins walk away but can get a bus there. The room had a single bed, desk and chair, heater, wardrobe and drawers. It has a bigger communal kitchen with table, sofas etc and a bathroom and a separate toilet. There are five boys in this area and we met two of them, Juno from NI and John from Glasgow.

All stuff unpacked we went out for some food and then to the library as seemingly there are two Cameron A and while his card worked it had the wrong picture on it!

Back to the very hot Halls and then S and I left. Yes, I cried. I just remembered that wee boy who would always say ‘Cameron do it’ , and he sure has. Worked hard, stuck in to everything he has taken on, chilled, easy going, clever and never has asked for much. One Christmas, I think he was four, all that was on his Christmas list was a magnifying glass! I managed to find one in Aldi that lit up, still has that :D.

When we were asking what he was having for tea we realised we had forgotten, or rather they had forgotten, the bag with his plates and cutlery! Ohhhhh MG!

We heard later he had met up with the two guys from his floor and were getting to know one another.

Wishing Cameron all the very best for the next four years. Going to miss him but sure will be having more frequent trips to Edinburgh. After all, who do I cook for now that Mum has gone!
