Devastation?

We arrived home today and headed straight for the garden to see what a week of 30° and above had done.

Surprisingly most of the flowers were still struggling along, though very grateful for a good drink. But the greenhouse was another matter. Everything was destroyed. We did manage to salvage a bowl of tomatoes and a number of cucumbers but the red peppers were cooked on the plants. Who would have expected such heat in September, in the U.K. that is?

Ah well, we did have a lovely holiday.
