Splashing and stomping

The pick up arrived early afternoon, as I was mid-weeding. Children, bags and dogs emptied out and spread across the house and garden.

The eldest nephew unpacked his 20 books and arranged them around his bedroom. Spider-Man, football cards, Pokémon, everywhere.

Mum made an after lunch spread of cheese, smoked salmon and fizz.

After settling in, we stomped down to the beach for rock pooling and paddling. Swimming for dad.

Next stop, pub to feed the kids (chips) before heading back up the hill for adult tea. We picked chanterelle on the way up.

I made burrata and peaches on sourdough and a salad to accompany.

It’s good to finally have everyone here.
