Ferrari were at Road America this past weekend for the final races of the season in North America. "Besides" lots of racing, they treated themselves to a fantastic display of pyrotechnics.  Here I converted one to B&W using NIK software...this is what your dog sees.  He also hears the BOOMS...but you already knew that.  In case you need reminding of why color is so important to such displays, and why dogs are nonplussed by them, compare the B&W to the original in the Extras.
