A Prayer for Morocco

The Hand of Fatima fashioned in exquisite Moroccan style, illuminated by a candle to express solidarity with the people who have lost their families, livelihoods and their homes in last Friday's earthquake.

We have friends (and an apartment) in Tangier which is on the north coast. So far, all are safe fortunately. But horrendous stories are emerging of the losses in the High Atlas region, not helped by rockfalls blocking roads and access, and difficulties getting aid to affected regions.

Aziz could have been in Marrakech conducting business. Marrakech is both a tourist and a handicraft hub. Loss of business here will severely impact the country's GDP.

Today is the twenty-second anniversary too of 9/11.

In personal news, Len helped with the mobility scooter. He managed to prise off the seat and lifted out battery A. There was a small amount of debris in the connection socket. I worked out that when the seat had collapsed with a resounding thud, it had dislodged the battery connection, which was why the scooter did not respond. Fingers crossed, we have resolved the problem.
