Repair job

A few weeks ago a friend asked if I could do anything with this pretty blouse. The delicate fabric had pulled apart where it had been sewn up at the front for modesty....it had become very much less than modest! I couldn't get at the tear from the inside without fear of the whole thing becoming one big hole! I did my best to reinforce with a tiny piece of interfacing before closing the hole best I could and joining the two fronts together. I've hopefully hidden most of the repair with the little bow which I made out of one of the hanging ribbons from inside the shoulder. I'm not 100% satisfied with the result but her other option for it was the bin! I just hope it holds up to wearing.
Today was also full of phone calls but at least an improvement on yesterday. I managed to get the GP to call mum and he is arranging for a nurse to call in and help with her leg. He's also referring her to a specialist.
Following our yesterday's awful visit to Barry's dad, his mum had received worrying texts from him in the middle of the night. She rang the care home to go to his aid. She also rang me several times this morning with reports from various people. A few things are happening and there will be a mental assessment on Friday. It's all taking a big toll on her and at 93 she's doing really well coping with such distress. Life can be so cruel. I wish we could ask for him to be sedated.
I'm looking forward to a day out in Hexham with Kath tomorrow. I don't even care if it rains!
