Ginza Market

Our tour wasn't starting until 3 pm, so we had more time in Tokyo. We headed to the Ginza area and the market. Lots of fish, sea urchins, spider crabs.

We couldn't resist some freshly cut tuna, it was amazing and the marketing was perfectly placed with a very old gentleman cutting and preparing the fish whilst screaming Japanese pleasantries. The taste was so delicious, it melted in your mouth.

This photo stood out for me. These markets are ram packed and at just the moment I clicked this gent looked over. Perfect.

We then took time to visit a Buddhist temple where half the men from the surrounding offices came in for a quick..... snooze!

Later we were leaving Tokyo and heading for Nikko on the bullet train. What a beast of a machine that is.

The temperature in Nikko is very refreshing, 5 degrees cooler at least. We are in a Ryokan on tatami mats 4 inches high with matching jammies. I can't stop laughing. I will never sleep like this for the next 14 nights!
