Over to the yard to meet GB’s workers and discuss ordering up of the equipment needed for boat lifts avec masts. We’re going to make this happen. Though I may stay in the water anyway over the winter - let some others be guinea pigs.
Back and up to the dentist. The long suffering receptionist, Anne, is retiring at the end of the month after 35 years so I do diplomatic niceties and enquire after her plans and wish her well. And let her old boss know; he sends me back a picture of his boat.
Then off to meet a selection of the Diggers mates (MrT,MrW and bigPhil) to watch Scotland v England - a friendly to commemorate it being 150 years since the first encounter between the two teams. Scotland, despite having won their last five games, were well second best and the atmosphere in the pub was quickly flattened when England went 2-0 up, though it did revive briefly when Harry Maguire pulled one back for us by putting it into his own net. Briefly. But then we got down to the real business - drinking beer and talking piddle - good practice for tomorrow!
