Urban decay

Decided to shoot something a bit more gritty today. This is a sight I see every day, a factory that has been left to decay in the hope that the council will give the owner permission to pull it down and build homes.

This situation has been going on for years, but the council are firm in their resolve not to allow the landowner to build the number of properties he is proposing, in what is already a highly populated area with insufficient services.

The question is: when is he going to do something responsible with this building, which is now dangerous? Thieves have removed all the copper piping and the lead flashing, and there have been fires set in it which have weakened the structure considerably. And the local kids like to climb over the wall and play in it ...

One day soon, I hope.

Seems like there are lots of buildings suffering a similar sort of fate.
