Colourful in the town centre

Main photo of one of our town centre floral displays. extra is of part of an extensive area of these markings. I have no idea what they are for but they are recent and stretch for quite a way along pavements in our town centre. I can't stand not to know what things are for!
Finished painting the shed this afternoon - Terry did the struts on the roof as I'm chicken on ladders.
Still heard nothing about my xray.
