Flower Friday (15th September 2023)

Having put the subject of yesterday's blip back to its normal site and rotated the pot back to its original alignment, I photographed it again for Flower Friday in natural light, which gives a better idea of its red and amber foliage at this time of year. Thanks to BikerBear for hosting.

Beyoncé - I'd Rather Go Blind (2008)
I'm not a major Beyoncé fan as she operates within a genre I'm not particularly keen on. In 2017, though she played Etta James in the film Cadillac Records which included a scene in which she records one of her most famous tunes, I'd Rather Go Blind, which Etta James recorded at Muscle Shoals in 1967. Beyoncé's version slightly over-embellishes the vocal performance but the band emulate the sound of the original studio house band very nicely. There is also a very fine version of it by Christine Perfect (later Christine McVie) from 1969.
