Wet day at the ARC

We had a tour of the Advanced Research Centre (ARC) at Glasgow University bringing together engineers, chemists, biologists etc. pooling together to solve real life problems.
Current research being undertaken includes
Smart bandages to treat/heal large wounds
Malaria/worm tests as sophisticated as a PCR but based on DNA. Present one will cost 15p, markup of 75p, so do-able for poor countries.
Cystic fibrosis drug using a puffer similar to asthma one but based on ultra sound for delivery as present one destroys the drug being too strong.
Wi fi as a means of preventative medicine.
All fascinating to hear about.
Also had a look at the adjacent Clarice Pears Building, the University's new School of Health and Wellbeing.
Now off to watch Antiques Roadshow from Pollok Park. Don't think I'll be in this one but seems they've made three episodes from that day.
I was! Blue jacket behind the guy presenting at the Higher/Lower spot
