If you are curious about the ancient craft of felt making and would like to see some examples of it then the current exhibition in Dunblane museum offers an excellent opportunity to see first hand just what can be achieved by this process.(see extras).

Felt making is a tactile and mysterious experience and the exhibition shows a video how it is still made today in Mongolia using traditional methods.

One of the highlights is the opportunity to engage with the talented felt makers themselves. ( see extra) Visitors can gain insights into their creative processes; learn about the history and techniques of felt making,

Since Covid and lockdown there has been resurgence in craft making and this exhibition testifies to the deep human need to be creative and to physically make-work.

Dunblane Felters are a small local community group who meet once a month to share their expertise.

The exhibition runs until the end of the month
