The dam ...

... at Derwent Reservoir, County Durham - a short ride on the Speed Twin between showers.  It can get quite busy, but I was the only person there.  I didn't know this - Unlike other reservoirs in Northern England that are flooded valleys with a dam head, Derwent was dug out of the ground and the earth removed was used in its dam head.
