Day off today!

To finish off our Celebrations, we had a staycation which was great value and a treat, so we’ve taken the rest of the day off today. We went to the German Underground Hospital late morning, then picked up a roll for our lunch overlooking Grandes Rocques beach. I’ve put a typical photo in extras that sums up the underground hospital. No degree of comfort or privacy, in an already difficult situation. I took lots of photos, and haven’t had time to digest them really. But I was amazed by the cold, the bunk bed and chicken wire under the sheet. Really they were the lucky ones, many were just sent off to concentration camps. Others died in the building of this hospital.
