Part of the reason we came down to Wales this week was to meet up with Sharon's mum and some other volunteers to measure some trees.  There's a project called Cradle For Nature that was run as a university project for a while, looking into the best way to plant trees to regenerate ex-coal mine sites.  This year was the 20 year measuring of the last plot, and the site is being handed over to a local tree charity to look after going forward.  We're unlikely to come again in the near future.

Today was the beginning of the measuring and handover so we drove from where we were staying over to the site.  Given this view from the road over, we just had to stop and take photos of the mist!

Once on site, Tim was tasked with photographing the edge of the site for record purposes, whilst Sharon was helping the new volunteers get up to speed with how to measure trees.  Tim took over 1250 photos today, so here's a small selection of the shots taken.

The second extra shows one of the two main tree plots.

On the way back we stopped at a reservoir where we got out of the car an immediately put more coats on - it was freezing!  Then we noticed the bloke in the last extra on the water, and his other half who was also not wearing much!
