Courage

A new week. Busy ticking off a to do list and far more achieved. A mixture of chores and me time. Met Carrie for coffee in the middle  of the day and a couple of fish pies made for the freezer among other things. 
Met FK at the museum to apply for a volunteer placement.  They have an Essex regiment section there which he's always loved and online it says an ex-military man is spending 2hrs a week typing up personal military notes onto a database....Finn's interest was sparked. He has to do something for Wednesday afternoon timetabled 'enrichment'. This would be perfect. After a long 'discussion' about whether he should start by saying, do they accept volunteers at 16, he wanted me to ask for him. We weren't immediately turned away but he needs to apply online. We did this together at home and he felt much more comfortable. 
Still working on the confidence with strangers, putting himself into a position of possible rejection and positive mental attitude. He knows he needs to work at this and I'll do all I can to help him. But I do hope he'll be successful...it would be so good for him.
