Flowering Ivy

On a wander after coffee at Smeaton's Tearoom we came across a large spread of ivy, whose flowers were simply swarming with insects - bees, hoverflies. wasps and Red Admiral butterflies. This one posed nicely for me.
It just shows how valuable are the late-flowering species to insects, providing energy before the winter sets in.
