Wednesday: Vegetarians, Don’t Look!

I told you not to look!

The programme in relation to Independence Day continued today with a visit to Spanish Lookout, the heart of both the agricultural and Mennonite communities (the two are linked).  In one of my more glamorous opportunities we were given a tour of a chicken processing plant.  At least that was followed by a visit to a dairy plant where we were given ice cream.

After lunch and the return drive to Belmopan I had a short turnaround at home before heading up to Belize City for a reception in relation to Independence.  It finished around 10pm after which there was an hour to kill before heading out again for a midnight flag raising ceremony to celebrate Belize’s 42nd anniversary of independence.
