Sgwarnog: In the Field

James

I had a day off for my birthday, and 19yo had a spare day before he returns to uni at the weekend, so we had a trip out together to Wakefield to visit the Hepworth Gallery.

We passed this building and ghost sign on our walk from Westgate station down to the gallery. TF James Electrical Engineers have long departed from the premises.

It was actually my first visit to the Hepworth, although 19yo had been before. Barbara Hepworth is one of the notable alumni of my current work so a trip was long overdue. Along with the permanent exhibits devoted to her work, the main current temporary exhbition is devoted to Hurvin Anderson’s Salon Paintings.

We had a potter about the town centre before returning, with the Wakefield Peregrines screeching above. Back at home 15yo joined us for the traditional party tea.
