And so, unto Avignon

Backblip:

Our first full day in the Drôme was spent leaving the Drôme and going down to Provence to visit Avignon. A day of excessive heat, walking around and admiring those French urbanistes with sufficient knowledge to plant tress everywhere and thus reduce the heat islands. Only nature can save us.

What a splendid town Avignon is, architecturally at least. We were there during the "Fringe" too - so there were plenty of artistes wandering the streets, trying to get people into shows. We demurred.
