Hubby and I received an invitation to join friends at a local restaurant this evening.

Our friend Richard is 70 today. He requested that we don’t buy a gift but just bring our good wishes.

We know he soaks raisins in whisky which he enjoys with his porridge every morning.
Sounds revolting to me but we got him some whisky and raisins, wrapped them and gave them to him with a note explaining that it’s not a gift, it’s just a contribution towards his breakfasts.

We felt very honoured to be their only guests at the dinner and had a really lovely evening together.
They’re having family celebrations at the weekend.
Dinner was so yum :)
