Lying on the floor but looking up at the bluebells

An odd angle and I took better photos but this involved shining a torchlight from an iphone and dirty clothes from lying and kneeling on the ground. When I get the chance to mess with my camera I do love it.

This is taken in Holly Wood Nature Reserve which is situated in Great Barr, Sandwell. It has been sadly neglected for a number of years. A local company has got involved and done a lot of work on accessibility and making it much nicer.

Local people are now trying to set up a friends group which will mean we can apply for funding and try and improve this space for lots of people.

It really is a little oasis when you consider it is so close to Junction 7 of the M6 and the Scott Arms junction which is said to be one of the busiest in Europe.

Jo Miskin from Sandwell Council will be leading an evening walk through Holly Wood Nature Reserve on the 20th June 2013 at 7pm. It is an opportunity to experience the woods and also hear about some of the exciting plans for this lovely green space. Plans include a bridge which will create a circular route, sculptures throughout the space, a wild flower meadow, another kissing gate at the entrance on Queslett Road and much more. Local support is crucial though as without a friends group then we cannot apply for funding. If you are local and look at my blog and please come along.
