"Only"

I know! 

I know it's "only" Rhododendron ponticum, and I do know that it's a dreadful weed up there in the Northern Hemisphere.  

But I also know that Rhodies are really hard to grow in Adelaide - and only do well in Stirling which is a couple of kilometers up the hill from here.  Well, more like 10 K but you know what I mean.  So it's extraordinary that we can grow it  here here in Belair.  And this year it's a traffic stopper.  We are in a bit of a fog pocket which helps a lot, and boy oh boy do I feed it well.  

And it's growing in a very protected position against a south facing wall which also helps against the heat.
