We were dropped at the parking at about 1,290m for the walk up to the twin peaks of Macondiu today, with an optional scramble up to the first summit, but my legs were soooooo tired it was a struggle. We reached the mountain hut and had a tea/coffee before walking the last bit to the base of the scramble.

In spite of it promising to be the most enjoyable bit of the day as far as I was concerned, my legs weren't really doing as they were instructed and 6 of us elected to have a longer lunch stop while the rest went to the top.

We were able to get out of the wind but it was still cold with the wind chill, and it wasn't a very pleasant wait for the rest of the group, see extra. As soon as the guide came down he was able to tell us which way to go, and where to wait more out of the wind.

When we eventually got down to the vehicles it was discovered that there'd been a bit of a mix up with vans, drivers and keys. We had two vans but only one driver, so the fit, Irish members of the group set off to walk 4km to the nearest village to wait in a bar, while the rest of us were driven home. Thank goodness!

Packing now, ready for our flight home tomorrow.
