Batman!

The 'Batman' Hoverfly, Myathropa florea, feeds on the Caryopteris in our back garden.

I was quite surprised when this turned up, as this plant usually attracts only bees of one sort or another (it was in fact buzzing with Honey Bees at the time this photograph was taken).
