Acts of deliberate notice

Happy Autumnal Equinox! Blessings to all of you lovely people.

With lots of thought of the coming weeks, D and I didn't want to do very much today, but we wanted to get outside and spend some time among trees. A local Wildlife Trust place has these gorgeous free-roaming highlands, so we went to pay them a visit and to wander around the sunny heathland.

Seeing big hairy cows through the trees like this always has a very primal sort of feeling attached to it. They're like spirits, or gods. An awe-inspiring sight every time.

Unexpectedly, we also saw a small lizard scurry across the boardwalk, and a dragonfly at one point landed on D's arm. We humans don't deserve nature. We are so lucky to live on this beautiful, varied, magical planet.
