Dunoon

My friend from Edinburgh is still staying with us today. We had planned a long awaited visit to Dumfries House but thankfully I checked before we set out only to find the house is not currently open on a Saturday. Our next thought was to go to Dunoon and Benmore Gardens. From a distant memory I remembered a leaflet I had picked up last year about the Cowal Open Studios weekend. Amazingly it was on again this weekend, so off we set on the ferry from Gourock to Dunoon, on a beautiful sunny day. We had a lovely drive around the Sandbank area and Kilmun (old church top left), visited a good number of artist’s studios, made several purchases, including a big one for me, and had a wonderful day!
