Off we go

Out on a whale spotting trip this morning after a good night's sleep. Boston was left far behind as we headed off to a spot where the ocean floor topography pushes whale food up nearer the surface so that sightings are common. Not today :-(  I am very disappointed that after 4hrs we saw nowt but that's the nature of Nature. I bet they're all out frolicking on top of the waves right this minute, now that we've all left them in peace!

A very comfortable night's sleep last night with the 5hr time lag working in our favour. A quick up and out to grab a Starbucks sugar loaded breakfast (so much sweeter than I like) before the boat trip and then it's been a 3hr drive north to Maine this afternoon to our next stop. The two naturalists leading the trip are incredibly patient and knowledgeable and sight birds that I would have just vaguely bypassed, so we now have a long list (if you're into that sort of thing, which some of the folk on the trip are).  

They are a really nice bunch of people, ready to instantly share insights and wine - couldn't ask for more!

Rounded off today with local seafood specialities - lobster for Chris,  seafood casserole for me, washed down with a selection of beers. 

I think we'll manage!
