The Blacksmiths at Ratho Byres Forge

The final weekend of Doors Open Day for this year. We visited the P Johnson & Company Blacksmiths at Ratho Byres Forge.

Portfolio of Their Work Visiting the website will open up a fabulous collection of photographs of their sculpture and art.

Blacksmith establishments are rather rough, noisy, smoky and full of incredible machinery. Visitors were shown many techniques for making the various components.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and learned a lot about this talented group.
