COLLARED EARTHSTAR

Geastrum triplex
An easy Blip. There is a row of eight of these along the base of a hedge in our garden.
An interesting fungus which sometimes forms fairy rings.
The hole at the top where the spores puff out is known as a peristole. Should you be lucky enough to find one with several peristoles then you have found the very rare Pepperpot Earthstar.
