Nant valley mounatins

As the sun went down we were lucky to see two very different layers of mountains. HilarysView and I had been tramping up and down a very tricky mountainside in the hole of getting close to some rutting deer. But they had other ideas! We did hear them in the distance and saw two females and a large stag but only in the distance. It was dark when we got back to the car.

This morning the children took part in a hedge survey to see if there are any living at this altitude. We set up 8 tunnels, over a large area, with cat food, white paper and ink and each day we will see if there are any footprints. The children were very excited to take part in this survey in combination with Alpesvivantes.
