If you can't beat them...

Mallard Bathtime

We aimed to be back at the marina a day earlier as we had a land based visit planned for tomorrow.  It was blowing an absolute hooley as we arrived at the marina.  Two men from a fishing match were positioned at the marina entrance.   Well, I am afraid they wouldn't win as I had problems getting into the marina.   As they shouldn't have been fishing there I had no sympathy.

Eventually, I got to the service berth for a pump out of the toilet and fill up with diesel.   I wasn't certain about getting back to our berth, fortunately the marina manager offered to do that for us.  During the week Kat had been on the boat the hose used to top up the water tank had sprung a leak.  A new one was needed.  Fortunately, we knew of a garden centre just down the road.

With that job done we went next door to the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust's headquarters on the Wolesley Bridge reserve.  We weren't expecting the "Kingfisher fest" that we had in May, but it is always interesting to see what is about.  This Drake Mallard was causing quite a commotion with its vigerous bathing.
