We spent the morning wandering around the Gamcheon Culture Village. This village was set up in 1956 after the war to accommodate refugees. Today, it could be seen as an equivalent of the Brazilian favelas without the violence. The locals are mostly people who moved in, in 1955 and who just refuse to move out. My boy tells me the locals were calling out to each other 'where are you going?' the reply came back ' don't worry, I will be back, I'm off to (wherever), do you want anything?' Such a tight community.

Later we went on the Danbu train to Taejondae island.

Most amazing was our trip to the optician to get Tom new glasses. We arrived, he had an eye test and chose his frames, he then received his new glasses within 20 minutes!!!!
