La vida de Annie

By Annie

Monday morning...

...and the Great British workman greets the new week with his habitual enthusiasm. He had two (awake - just) friends with him, reading the tabloids and eating something greasily carbohydrate-rich, so didn't go right up to white van man's window, instead choosing to hide behind a distant bush in true pap style.

The week got off to a strange start with an image I can't quite eliminate from my mind, and maybe you won't too. I always have Radio 4 on in the early morning, as its soothing cultured Britishness eases you gently into the day. At around 8.25 there was a short discussion about the relaunch of The Erotic Review, and quite a lively discussion between Kate Copstick and Kathy Lette about female sexuality and erotic writing. When Kate said that men make better writers, Kathy said that men will have sex with "reasonably domesticated wildlife and warm pies!" What is Radio 4 coming to?

Just off to bin that pie I'd got for dinner...
