Hay's Dock, Lerwick

A different day today. Mum and I spent the day at several Wool Week talks. The first was at the Shetland Museum and all about Shetland flowers and their names in Shetland dialect. Fascinating and made even better by the fact that we were given a coffee and a bannock at the start. We had lunch at the museum, had a little bit of time to look around the museum and have a short stroll around the museum where the blip and extra were taken.

Next was into Orkney College for a talk about Shetland knitting, a quick trip back to Lerwick proper for a snack and a stroll part way up the hill behind Lerwick. Then back to Orkney College for a talk about the archaeology and textiles of Gunnister man and other bog bodies. Another really interesting talk.
