Beckett in a café in a pub

I was back at the RIAM's new Whyte Recital Hall yet again tonight (my fourth time since it opened at the beginning of the month). Tonight it was the turn of the wonderful Schumann Quartet. Another great night, with music by Dvoƙák, Victor Ullmann and Schubert (his wonderful 'Rosamunde' Quartet).

During the interval we bumped into an ex-member of the music group who we haven't seen in a very long time. A quick chat and exchange of how-are-you's led to a suggestion that we meet afterwards across the road in Kennedys pub. Great chat went on and on until taxi time. We were sitting at the back downstairs, directly under this reproduction of the iconic 1985 photograph (by John Minihan) of Samuel Beckett in his local café in Paris.
